When it comes to personal development and making changes in our lives, it's easy to get caught up in the idea that we need to make things happen on our own timeline. We set goals and make plans, and we want to see results as soon as possible. But what if I told you that there's another way? What if I told you that it's better to let the universe take care of the timing and the how of our journeys?
I know it might sound a little radical, but hear me out. Think about all the times in your life when you've tried to force something to happen. Maybe you've tried to make a relationship work when it just wasn't meant to be, or you've pushed yourself to achieve a goal that wasn't aligned with your true passions and values. How did that work out for you?
Chances are, it didn't work out so well. When we try to control the timing and the how of our lives, we often end up causing ourselves unnecessary stress and suffering. We become attached to the outcome we want, and when it doesn't happen on our schedule, we feel disappointed and frustrated.
But what if we let go of that need for control? What if we trusted that the universe has a plan for us, and that everything will happen in its own time? When we release that need for control, we free ourselves from a lot of unnecessary stress and suffering.
Of course, that's easier said than done. It's natural to want to feel like we're in control of our lives. But the truth is, we can never really be in complete control. There are always going to be external factors that we can't predict or control, and that's okay. Instead of fighting against those factors, we can learn to work with them.
So what does this look like in practice? It means setting goals and making plans, but being open to the possibility that they might not happen exactly as we envisioned, or happen at the time that we want. It means being open to new opportunities and experiences, even if they don't fit neatly into our plans. It means trusting that everything is happening exactly as it should, even if we can't see the bigger picture.
When we approach our life journey in this way, we free ourselves from a lot of unnecessary stress and suffering. We become more resilient and adaptable, because we're not tied to a specific outcome. We're able to stay present in the moment and appreciate the journey, rather than constantly striving for the next milestone.
Of course, this doesn't mean that we should just sit back and do nothing. We still need to take action and make effort towards our goals. But we can do so with a sense of detachment and openness, rather than desperation and attachment.
So the next time you find yourself feeling stressed or frustrated because things aren't happening on your timeline, try taking a step back and trusting that everything is happening exactly as it should. Remember that you're not alone, and that the universe has a plan for you. Trust the timing, and enjoy the journey.
Until next month,
Much Love,
Lela :)
